Great result for Phil

Just a quick update to say that I won my 2nd bike race of the season at the weekend, this time a 2 stage Regional A race, the Clifton Cycling club RR.

The first stage was a short 3.6km Time trial which I won in 4.36, 12 seconds faster than my nearest rival and 1 of only 3 people who broke the 5min mark. Onto the 90km 5 lap RR, I decided that it would probably be best to try and whittle the 45 or so riders down to a select few and then attack with one of the more stronger riders and just stay with them till the end knowing they couldn’t beat me overall if I kept them in close proximity, so with about 12 riders left after 30km I decided to attack with another rider who was incredibly strong on the hills (because he was about half my weight) and by the end we had put 5min 30sec into the peloton with myself narrowly been beaten by a couple of seconds by the rider who I was with although it didn’t really matter as I had beaten him by about 40seconds in the TT. This meant that by the end of the day I had won by 35seconds on 2nd place and just over 6 mins on 3rd, certainly a good day at the office!
