On Sunday the 1st of June 2008 the Benny Vansteelant Memorial takes place.

Vansteelant Memorial Duathlon

Last year the multi sport world mourned the shocking death of duathlon legend Benny Vansteelant. To honour his life and career, the Torhout ITU Duathlon World Series Event will also be the Benny Vansteelant Memorial Duathlon taking place near his hometown in Belgium on 1st June.

The following races will take place,

ITU World Series 2008 Duathlon: pro & age group athletes Distance: 10 / 30 / 5 / 30 / 5

Non drafting duathlon

Short duathlon & Relay duathlon Distance: 5 / 20 / 2,5

Drafting duathlon

Youth and Junior Duathlon Distance: 5 / 20 / 2,5

Drafting duathlon

Kids duathlon Distance:500 m / 1 km / 500 m

International pro athletes and age group participants will be able to compete on the same day, spread over five races.
